WHY DO WE ADVISE PEOPLE TO LEARN GOD'S TRUE NAME IN THE BIBLE FROM WWW.THENAME.PH AS COMPARED TO DIRECTLY REVEALING IT TO THEM
On September 24, 2006, the knowledge about the holy One true Name of our Lord God in the Bible was made accessible by the late Teacher Eraño M. Evangelista to all the world's people.
He was able to accomplish that when he had the Bible exposition about God's real Name published on the website www.thename.ph
Despite the clear revelation regarding God's Name on the website, the late Teacher Evangelista strictly recommended we do not mention God's true Name outright to others, especially to our family and friends.
Instead, he'd advised us to encourage others to discover God's actual Name independently by reading the website articles. He even had the same strict instruction written on the said articles.
You may ask, why did Teacher Evangelista give such strict reminders about knowing God's Name?
He explained that the reason is to prevent others from mentioning God's Name in vain, as it is Holy and Sacred. We can read God's commandment in Deuteronomy 5, verse 11.
"You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain."
Deuteronomy 5:11 NIV
As the passage reads, the prophet Moses tells us that we should not mention God's Name in vain and even says that our Lord God will not hold guiltless those who speak His Name vainly.
To understand what was meant by "speaking God's Name in vain," Teacher Evangelista gave an example.
He said: "If I divulged God's true Name without FIRST explaining it through the Bible, it would mean you did not learn from God's own words in the Bible but rather from me. That is what speaking God's Name in vain is. Whether or not I intended to show off my knowledge, I would be guilty of mentioning God's Name in vain and have denied you the opportunity to learn such sacred understanding from God's written word."
To understand how God is faithful to His word and will not hold guiltless those who misuse His Name, Teacher Evangelista also shared what happened to one of his former Bible regular study attendees.
During one of his Bible study sessions, a visitor came over to learn about the teachings. After the introductory Bible sharing. Teacher Evangelista let everyone take a short break before beginning the Bible lecture about God's Name.
While taking a short break, Teacher Evangelista reminded the regular attendees to defer from mentioning God's Name to the visitor and that they should wait for him.
When Teacher Evangelista got back, the visitor told him that he already knew God's Name because one of the regular attendees mentioned it.
When the visitor left, Teacher Evangelista talked to the attendee (who mentioned God's Name) and told him that what he did was wrong as he said God's Name in vain and the said misdeed would have a consequence from God Himself.
As the said attendee was about to leave, Teacher Evangelista reminded him to avoid repeating the same blunder.
After several months, the attendee came back. Teacher Evangelista described the former attendee's appearance as thin and sickly and having companions to support him as he walked.
Teacher Evangelista asked the attendee if he committed the same misdeed of directly mentioning God's Name. The former attendee did not deny and admitted he did wrong.
Teacher Evangelista learned how the attendee openly proclaimed God's Name to the people in his hometown, not just verbally but also writing it on a signboard for everyone to see.
The attendee then begged Teacher Evangelista to do a prayer intervention so God would forgive him for misusing His Name.
According to Teacher Evangelista, he prayed to God to ask for wisdom regarding the attendee's plight. After doing so, he received an answer through the Bible.
Let us read Exodus 32:30-33.
The next day Moses said to the people, "You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin."
So Moses went back to the Lord and said, "Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. But now, please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written."
Exodus 32:30-32 (NIV)
Moses offered his own life and his being a prophet of God to atone for the sins of his people.
What did God say to him?
The LORD replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot out of my book.
Exodus 32:33 NIV
We can read that God did not allow Moses to pray on the sinners' behalf.
After reading the said Bible verses, Teacher Evangelista understood that he was not allowed to intervene in the sins of others. He then informed the former regular attendee about God's message in the Bible about not allowing prayer interventions.
After learning the Bible message, The former regular attendee, feeling downcast, returned to his home. Then after several weeks, Teacher Evangelista learned how the attendee died from his disease.
The above story is what Teacher Evangelista shares with his listeners and Bible study attendees about the importance of keeping God's actual Name sacred and how our Lord God does not hold anyone guiltless those who misuse His Name.
Question: What if you've learned God's actual Name in the Bible revelations in thename.ph, and you directly revealed it to others without letting them discover it on their own on the said website- Would God punish you right away?
We can read the answer in Exodus 32:34
Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin."
Exodus 32:34 (NIV)
"However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin."- We can understand that there is a time of judgement.
Question: Why should we listen to Teacher Evangelista's Bible revelations about the actual Name of God? What is his authority from God?
Let us read what God HIMSELF said:
I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my Name, I myself will call him to account.
Deuteronomy 18:18-19 (NIV 1984)
“I will raise up for them a prophet like you;” -God mentioned the ONE prophet He will send like Moses, who will come from the brothers of Israelites.
“from among their brothers” – This means that the chosen one will come from the race of people whom God will also consider as His people Israel.
“I will put my words in his mouth,”- God will place His words in the chosen one’s mouth (meaning the chosen one (last prophet) will not study the Bible on his own nor will he study ancient languages) for God Himself will instruct him about His words.
“and he will tell them everything I command him.” - The chosen one will only reveal to the world what God commands him to show through the scriptures. He will not make his doctrines or dogmas about God as religious pastors or evangelicals do.
“If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account.” -We must comprehend that God will hold responsible those who will not LISTEN to His words that the prophet speaks in His Name.
We can now understand that when it comes to the word of God, especially His Name, there is only ONE man to who God gave authority to speak “in His Name .”This is the ‘prophet like Moses’ whom God spoke about in Deuteronomy 18:18-19.
The late Teacher Evangelista fulfilled his mission as God's "prophet like Moses" when he had the Bible revelations about God's Name known to the world's people through the website thename.ph.
We now know how crucial it is to heed the late Teacher Evangelista's Bible teachings about God's true Name, how we should avoid mentioning the Name directly, and instead let other people read the revelations on the website. It is up to you, the reader, to follow this advice.
What is important is that we have shared God's true message in the Bible regarding His Holy Name.
